Yellow Mounds Overlook

One of the unexpected finds in the Badlands National Park were the yellow mounds. After driving through miles of browns and beiges, these were spectacular. The colors represent the different types of sediment that settled here at different times. We were told that you need to come see them now as they will all be washed away in approximately 500,000 years.

I took this photograph yesterday in Badlands National Park, South Dakota. I used a Nikon Z5 camera using a NIKKOR Z 24-70mm ƒ/2.8 S lens (1/160secs at ƒ/16, ISO 100, 35mm). I edited and cropped the image in Adobe Lightroom.
