Because of the hydroelectric dams in the area, Great Falls is known as “Electric City.” The Black Eagle Dam plant started producing electricity in 1890! This is a photograph of their many consumers– the Calumet Montana Refinery. It recently celebrated its 100th birthday and currently produces 30,000 barrels a day.
I took this photograph this week in in Great Falls, Montana. I used a Nikon Z5 camera using a NIKKOR Z 24-70mm ƒ/2.8 S lens (1/100 sec at ƒ/5.6, ISO 100, 53mm). I edited and cropped the image in Adobe Lightroom.
