Pronghorn

The pronghorn is the fastest land mammal in the Western Hemisphere reaching speeds up to 55mph. Although similar in appearance to an antelope, it is more closely related to the giraffe. We saw several pairs grazing in the Refuge.

I took this photograph yesterday in Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge near Great Falls, Montana. I used a Nikon Z5 camera using a NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S lens (1/1600 sec at ƒ/5.6, ISO 100, 400mm). I edited and cropped the image in Adobe Lightroom.
