Black Bear Cub

We took our last trip out bear hunting in Glacier last night. We saw four bears–all black bears. This cute cub was was eating dandelions beside the road with its mother and sibling. We spoke to the Park Ranger today and he said that black bears will often be brown, but grizzly bears will rarely be black.

I took this photograph yesterday near dusk in the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park, Montana. I used a Nikon Z5 camera using a NIKKOR Z 100-400mm ƒ/4.5-5.6 VR S lens (1/250 sec at ƒ/5.6, ISO 1250, 400mm). I edited and cropped the image in Adobe Lightroom.
