Sunsetting Utah

Our last day in Utah! It was almost 80º and sunny. Just beautiful. We decided on hiking a loop trail in the mountains. Well… There were patches of snow as we hiked and we were amused. Our puppy loved it and rolled in it. Then about 75% in, we were knee deep in snow. Did I mention I was wearing shorts? and sandals? My toes were so cold. It was too late to turn around, but with lots of breaks and rubbing life back into my feet, we made it. Utah will not soon be forgotten…

I took this photograph in the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge near Brigham City, Utah this week. I used a Nikon Z5 camera using a NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S lens (1/640 sec at ƒ/6.3, ISO 100, 100mm). I edited and cropped the image in Adobe Lightroom.
