Lake Mead is my favorite man-made reservoir (so far). The harsh browns of the canyons and the blue water are just gorgeous together. It is obvious the water is very low, but it is still impressive. News articles say that the snow pack is good this year and will help raise the level, but not significantly. A long term plan needs to be put in place to reduce the consumption for this water.
This is a composite of twelve photographs taken yesterday at sunset in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area near Boulder City, Nevada. I used a Nikon Z5 camera using a NIKKOR Z 24-70mm ƒ/2.8 S lens (1/100 sec at ƒ/3.5, ISO 100, 70mm). I edited the image in Adobe Lightroom.
